A criminal group recruited a number of people by deception, under the pretext of employing them at a poultry farm. The criminals promised them an official job and a salary of 6,000 to 10,000 lei per month. The General Police Inspectorate said that the owner of the poultry farm situated in Hîncești district, a 65-year-old man, was placed under arrest for 30 days for trafficking in persons for the purpose of labor exploitation, IPN reports.

The law enforcement officers established that the suspects, by deception and under the pretext that they did not have financial means, did not pay the promised salaries for almost a year. Moreover, they avoided concluding individual employment contracts so as not to pay taxes and did not acquire health insurance in the name of the workers.

Two potential victims, aged 25 and 30, were identified and are to be questioned. Things that can serve as evidence in the case, found at the farm and in the adjoining buildings, were seized.

Under the legislation, the guilty person faces six to ten years in prison and ban on holding particular positions or carry out particular activities for a period of two to five years.
