Two men, one of them a family physician in Chișinău, were detained for allegedly selling psychotropic drugs to drug users. The doctor issued prescriptions on behalf of third parties and personally procured psychotropic drugs from drugstores, which he subsequently transmitted to his accomplice for sale.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, as a result of searches, over one hundred pills and ampoules with psychotropic effect preparations were found. Additionally, several prescriptions for psychotropic drugs were found.
The suspects, aged 31 and 54, have acknowledged their guilt and are being investigated.
It is not the first case when a doctor is involved in the marketing of psychotropic drugs. A year ago, a neurologist at a hospital in the capital was arrested.
