A 45-year-old man died whereas his wife aged 42 was admitted to the hospital after they were poisoned by carbon monoxide emitted by the domestic heater in Copanca village of Căușeni district.
Căușeni Police Inspectorate press officer Silvia Vetcu has told IPN the police established that the couple, together with their nine-year-old son, on May 5 returned home after living abroad. They turned on the boiler to heat the house and this emitted carbon monoxide owing to technical faults.
The couple was found by the woman’s mother who came to visit them in the morning of May 6. The child slept in another room and was unhurt.
