The family doctors in Chisinau and their assistants can ask for free season tickets for trips by public transport or, by choice, for 70 lei a month in assistance for covering the travel expenses. A draft decision to this effect was approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council on November 22.

Contacted by IPN, Violeta Baltă, deputy head of the Social Assistance Division, said applications will be filed to the Local Medical Associations where the applicants work.

An analysis of the Local Medical Associations shows 748 family doctors and assistants of family doctors will need to have their travel expenses compensated.
