The family planning service was transferred from primary medical assistance centers to district hospitals, Deputy Minister of Health Mihail Ciocanu has told IPN. An order to this effect was made by Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi.

All the family planning doctors who are also gynecologists will be transferred to the district hospitals and none of them will be dismissed. “Now these gynecologists will provide specialized services and family planning services,” said Mihail Ciocanu.

Under the minister’s order, the managers of public medical-sanitary institutions will organize and run reproductive health offices as functional subdivisions within the consultative sections, starting with October 1 this year.
