A sum of 4 million lei was allocated from the National Social Support Fund for providing aid to families with children on the occasion of the International Children’s Day celebrated on June 1, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Ministry of Social Protection, Family and Child. The aid will be offered to families with many children, disabled children and non-institutionalized orphans, to one-parent families, family-type children’s houses and the professional parent assistance service. The National Social Support Fund fixed the minimum sum of the aid at 100 lei for families and at 200 lei for a child from family-type children’s houses and for the children put under the guardianship of professional parent assistants. The local social support funds will supplement these sums from the resources available. The lists of beneficiaries will be drawn up by mayors’ offices and district social assistance and family protection divisions. Over 21,000 families benefited from aid last year. A sum of 4 million lei was allotted from the National Social Support Fund for the purpose. Another 1.076 million lei was allocated from the local funds.
