Families that lived in recently destroyed Soroca block will receive 5,000 lei
The families that lived in the part of the Soroca apartment building that was destroyed as a result of an explosion will receive 5,000 lei each in financial assistance following a decision made by the Commission for Emergencies. The Commission was convened by Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev at the scene.
The block’s residents will be evacuated, accommodated and provided with basic needs. Simultaneously, there will be assessed the damage caused so as to fix the size of the compensations that will be provided to the people that remained without a home.
The Premier instructed the officials in charge to take measures to provide assistance in organizing the funerals. He said that the public authorities should cover all the incurring costs.
Vasile Tarlev demanded that the investigation be hastened so as to establish the cause of the explosion. The relevant bodies will carry out the technical examination of the building to see if it can be further used.
There will be assessed the damaged caused to the buildings from the neighbourhood in order to provide assistance in liquidating the consequences.
The explosion in the residential block located on 117 Stephan the Great Street in Soroca town occurred on October 27 at about 22.00. A staircase in the five-storey building was almost completely destroyed.
According to recent reports, four persons were killed and five others were injured in the blast.
