Families of those who died in accident near Bulboaca to receive financial support
The families of the persons who were killed in the railroad accident near Bulboaca village will benefit from financial assistance totaling 100,000 lei from the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In Wednesday’s meeting of the executive, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said no financial assistance can compensate for the loss of human lives. He expressed his concern about the rising number of causalities in road accidents. As many as 334 persons were killed in traffic accidents over January-September, while more than 2,000 were hurt.
Vlad Filat said the method of training drivers should be reviewed and the institutions involved in the process should be under a stricter control. “It seems that there is a competition between our institutions – who will issue more drivers’ licenses. This turned into a profitable business. But nobody thinks that there should be prepared responsible drivers,” said the Premier. He instructed Minister of Transport Anatol Salaru to make sure than all the railroad crossings are outfitted with barriers.
Eight persons were killed on November 1 when a passenger minibus was struck by a train near Bulboaca. Fourteen persons sustained injuries and were taken to the Anenii Noi district hospital. A 12-year-old girl could not be saved.
