9 million lei has been allocated from the State Budget to offer to needy families with children ahead of the upcoming school year, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family said in a press release the money will be distributed through the local population support funds, which will identify the groups of beneficiaries and establish the payout amounts.

The beneficiaries will be identified together with the education institutions and the relevant committees of the local governments.

In Chisinau, lump sums of 700 lei will be offered to some 8,000 families.

Beneficiaries in Chisinau will be able to pick the money at any Moldinconbank branch and beneficiaries elsewhere at any Moldova Mail office.
