Parents are urged to exercise extreme caution and not leave children unattended near windows that are open or can be opened easily. This year alone seven children in Chisinau fell from a height, reported Alexei Grosu, deputy head of the Municipal Police Department, at the City Hall’s ordinary meeting on Monday.

Adults are advised, when they leave the space where the child is even for a few moments, to make sure that all the windows are well closed, and that there are no pieces of furniture that the children could climb on.

Children should be made to understand that it is dangerous to climb on the windowsill or lean on the net.

With the number of cases rising lately, the City Police are launching the “Open Windows – A Hazard for Children” Campaign, which will run during July 18-27.
