A bomb scare at "Maxim Gorki" and "Bogdan Petriceicu Haldeu" high schools in Balti. All employees and children inside the buildings were evacuated and the police surrounded the area. After checks, no explosive objects were found and the institutions resumed their work, IPN reports.

The police were notified at noon via the single 112 service that an explosive object was placed in two educational institutions in Balti municipality. The information was confirmed to IPN by Lilia Harea, press officer of Drochia Police Inspectorate.

According to the press officer, investigations are continuing to identify the perpetrator of the bomb alert.

According to the legislation, the person guilty of "knowingly communicating false information about the terrorist act" risks a fine of up to 42500 lei, unpaid community service from 180 to 240 hours or up to 2 years in prison.
