Mayor general Ion Ceban suggested ex-minister of justice Fadei Nagacevschi for the post of deputy mayor of the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.
“He is a very good and competent specialist who will be in charge of legal matters and the anticorruption agenda at the Chisinau City Hall. I will propose the candidate in the next meeting of the Municipal Council. I hope those attending will adopt a constructive, not political approach,” Ion Ceban posted on his Facebook page.
Under the law on the local public administration, the deputy mayors are elected by the Chisinau Municipal Council by a majority of votes, at the suggestion of the mayor. If the draft decision is excluded from the agenda during two consecutive meetings or does not garner the necessary number of votes, the mayor can name the deputy mayor by an order that is submitted to the Council for familiarization.
