The deadline for returning the food-grade wheat given from the state reserves to the Rezina-based “Trifesti Springs” production cooperative has been extended by a year under a governmental order, until 1 September 2013, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov, Rezina district has been severely affected by the drought. The wheat gathered throughout the district will not exceed 8,000 tonnes, out of which 2,000 tonnes will go into the seed pool. The price for a tonne of wheat has risen by 600 lei from last year, up to 3,000 lei, depending on the percentage of gluten.
