Extraordinary CMC meeting to approve the capital's budget, initiated by PAS councillors

The councilors of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) are urgently calling all municipal councilors and representatives of the executive to a meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council on February 18. The main item on the agenda is the approval of the Chisinau municipal budget for 2025 in the first reading, IPN reports.

"The Chisinau City Hall is at risk of administrative deadlock and large infrastructure projects are being held up due to the refusal of Mayor Ion Ceban and MAN councilors, who do not show up at the Chisinau Municipal Council meetings to debate and vote on the 2025 municipal budget," reads a press release of the PAS faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council.

According to the PAS faction, at the extraordinary meetings convened by the PAS faction on February 4 and February 11, the MAN councilors did not show up, nor did all the councilors from other factions and independents, i.e. there was no quorum.

"Chisinau cannot remain without a budget as it was last year, when Chisinau City Hall blocked the budget for half a year. We are obliged to debate and approve, with minimal delays, the Chisinau municipal budget for 2025," PAS councillors write.

This is the third attempt to convene an extraordinary meeting of the CMC at the request of the PAS faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council. The meeting is scheduled for 10.00.
