If the Government falls, external partners might stop the financing programs, which will lead to citizens being deprived of increases in salaries, allowances and other facilities that are partially paid from external sources. Statements in this regard were made by Prime Minister Maia Sandu after the Parliament session.
According to the prime minister, the current government is credible and was able to quickly restore external financing, attracting "billions of lei in a few months from external sources". The 2020 budget is partially covered by funds from external sources.
Maia Sandu said that if financing is frozen, the citizens will be deprived of salary increases, increase of allowances for the cold period of the year, the compensation program to partially cover the cost for electricity spending, other allowances for people with disabilities, veterans from Nistru and Afghanistan and for those who have a small pension.
"Many things depend on external funding and it is clear that we are the only credible government, because we are the only one to show that we want good reforms and our reforms are appreciated by external partners. All others provide beautiful speeches which hide intentions to control the General Prosecutor's office and the justice system", said Prime Minister Maia Sandu.
The Socialist Party submitted a motion of censure on Friday, November 8, following the government's assumption of responsibility for amending the Law on the Prosecutor's Office. The Permanent Bureau will meet within the next three days in order to decide when the next plenary session will be held, then the motion will be examined.
