Extensive repair works will be carried out at 70 nursery schools situated in the five districts of Chisinau. A sum of 15 million lei was earmarked in the municipal budget for the purpose.

Contacted by IPN, deputy head of the Chisinau Division of Education, Youth and Sport Alexandru Fleas said three of the 70 institutions are crèche-kindergartens. Depending on necessities, there will be repaired the roofs, replaced the windows, rehabilitated the cooking facilities and engineering networks.

The 70 education institutions represent practically 50% of all the kindergartens working in Chisinau. Alexandru Fleas said that even if the budget for the repair of kindergartens rises annually, it does not fully cover the needs. Each year, the district divisions present a list of institution that are in need of repair works. These are selected depending on the available resources.

In the municipality of Chisinau, there are over 150 nurseries.
