Expulsion of Turkish citizens will be discussed during Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit

The expulsion of the seven Turkish citizens who taught at the “Orizont” lyceums in Moldova will be discussed during the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Chisinau, President Igor Dodon stated in a program on RTR Moldova channel.

“I will discuss the expulsion of the Turkish citizens with President Erdogan. The matter will be on the agenda of the visit. Protests will be mounted. We will definitely discuss,” he was quoted by IPN as saying.

In this connection, Igor Dodon said the President of Turkey has never asked him to extradite or expel the seven Turkish citizens. “I was not requested to contribute to the deportation of those people at a meeting with Erdogan or by other official persons from Turkey. Secondly, this was a surprise for me, as it was for you all,” he stated, adding he does not yet know details about this case as he received only general information from the Security and Intelligence Service about the expulsion.

Furthermore, the financing by the Turkish state of the works to renovate the Presidential Building that will be inaugurated in the presence of President Erdogan has no connection with the expulsion of the Turkish teachers, noted President Dodon.

He also said that he had a number of variants for repairing the Presidential Building, not only the proposal of the Turkish side. He discussed the issue with representatives of the authorities of Russia, Azerbaijan, Qatar.

The visit by President  Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Moldova was set for October 17-18, 2018.
