The state will not apply pecuniary sanctions to the exporters of alcoholic beverages to the Russian Federation, who did not repatriate the financial means in due time, according to the legislation in force. The Parliament passed a draft law in this respect on Friday, April 20. The law refers to the companies which exported alcoholic beverages to the Russian Federation between September 2005 and April 2006. Out of 102 companies which performed exports of alcoholic beverages to Russia during that period, 36 companies did not manage to repatriate MDL 18 mln. According to the Agro-industrial Agency “Moldova-Vin”, if applied, the sanctions would have worsened the difficult economic situation experienced by winemakers as a result of the bans imposed by the Russian Federation last year.
