Export of Moldovan wines to Russia has not been halted, Rospotrebnadzor
Rospotrebnadzor denies the press reports that an embargo was imposed on the import of Moldova wine products. “This information is not true. The Moldovan wines continue to be imported into Russia,” Russia’s food safety body says in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
Moldovan and Russian experts had a meeting in Moscow on August 12. They discussed the sanitary-hygienic work of the wine assessment laboratories and the evaluation of the Moldova wine products – from the examination of samples to the preparation of analysis reports.
Rospotrebnadzor says the experts are satisfied with the method used to examine the alcoholic beverages and did not raise objections. The meeting continues today, August 13.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc also denied the existence of an embargo, as the press reported Thursday, quoting a letter from Rospotrebnadzor. He said it was a letter addressed to the authorities of Belarus and Kazakhstan, asking them not to allow the Moldovan wines to cross their territories when heading for Russia.
