A powerful blast occurred in a fourth-floor apartment of a block located on Trandafirilor St in Cantemir town in the morning of May 4. As a result of the explosion, three apartments situated on the third, fourth and fifth floors started to burn, while the ceiling of a third-floor apartment collapsed, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, three persons were hurt as a result of the blast, namely two women aged 55 and 24 and a teenage boy of 16.

The call to the firefighting service was made at 06:13am. The fire was localized in over an hour.
