Specialists of the Chisinau Public Health Center found food products with the use-by date expired up to 130 days ago during surprise visits at a number of shops in the capital city.
The expired foods included culinary products, sausages and pancakes, IPN reports.
As a result of the inspections, 62 kilograms of products were seized. Nine businesses were fined a total of 28,000 lei.
