A number of experts welcome the dialogue of members of the Council of the Great National Assembly with Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet and with Head of Parliament Andrian Candu. In the talk show “Fabrica” on Publika TV channel, these said that many problems can be overcome by dialogue, but criticized the ultimatum-like demands of the protesters, IPN reports.
International law expert Vitalie Gamurari said that when there is a problem, there are two negotiators and the negotiators know to listen first of all. He believes that a large part of the protesters want a change, not yet all of them. “Each people chooses its administration. Why didn’t they work with the population when a referendum to amend the Constitution so that it allows for the election of the head of state by the people was held, but now ask for this? The resignation is not a solution. There are legal procedures that must be followed. The people want changes, but history showed that somebody usually makes use of such situations,” he stated.
Politician Valentin Krylov is convinced that those who orchestrate the given protest are far from Moldova. “I think the demands are ultimatum-like in character. The current government deserves being criticized and not only, but I’m firmly convinced that the current opposition is not ready to take over the power. The people have reasons to protest, but these are principally manipulated and consider that it is another attack on the country’s statehood,” he said.
Ghenadie Cosovan, former deputy minister of the interior, welcomed the dialogue, but considers that the protesting people are manipulated. “There were created some scarecrows that are being used. The manipulators, those who caused the crisis, do not want a veritable investigation into the stealing committed in the banking system. In Moldova, there are three clans that rule from behind and now they think that they are losing ground and will not manage to come to power,” he stated.
The program’s permanent expert Cristian Tabara said a government has reasons to be criticized, but those who claim that they make the voice of the protesters heard do not do it in fact. “I heard that they want resignations as if these would be solutions to the people’s problems. It is evident that these representatives of the protesters discredit themselves as they say one thing in one place and then say another thing in another place. It’s a pity that the good faith of the people is being used,” he stated.
The protest of the dissatisfied people continues in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau for the fifth day. The protesters demand that the senior administration should resign and that early legislative elections should be announced. The President, the Prime Minister and the Head of Parliament announced that they will not resign, saying the early elections will only deepen the crisis faced by the country.
