Experts of the Venice Commission will be paying a visit to the Republic of Moldova during May 9-11 to discuss the bills concerning the modification of the electoral system, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu announced in Parliament on May 5, IPN reports.
Andrian Candu said the experts will have meetings with the parliamentary groups and with representatives of the Central Election Commission, the Ministry of Justice and other institutions.
Both the Democrats’ bill on the uninominal voting system and the Socialists’ bill on the mixed-member electoral system, which was registered at the proposal of the Head of State, were submitted to the Venice Commissions for appraisal.
