Experts make effort to help the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, the Party “Action and Solidarity”, the European People’s Platform and the Liberal Democratic Party identify a common candidate for the presidential elections. The information was confirmed in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.

The leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu said the negotiation process reached the ‘expert stage’. The experts are to agree the mechanism for choosing the candidate. Several names were mentioned. “We cannot give names, especially because we now discuss mechanisms. We must take into account the fact that the opposite’s candidate for President will become a target for the government immediately after the name of this is made public,” stated Maia Sandu.

The chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Viorel Cibotaru said their party will support any candidate that will be nominated by the opposition, but he prefers this to be from outside the four parties and this should win the elections by the first round.

The two politicians noted that the presidential elections are a chance for the citizens of Moldova to get rid of the oligarchic regime and the President, even if Moldova is a parliamentary republic, has sufficient leveraging tools to bring things in the country in order.
