The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon is the one who loses in the dispute with the head of the Political Party “Our Party” Renato Usatyi, consider experts who were invited to the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Victor Juc, vice director of the Institute of Legal and Political Research of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, considers Usatyi’s anger is justified. “In politics, there are people who often win underserved victories. Usatyi’s anger is justified. The rating of Usatyi’s party is on the rise, while of Dodon’s party is decreasing. I think removing Renato Usatyi from the electoral race in November 2014 was a mistake. Usatyi’s supporters voted for Dodon. Thus, the PSRM built a false image. It then used Irina Vlah’s image in the governor elections in Gagauzia. Usatyi’s return wasn’t favorable for Dodon,” he stated.
Valentin Krylov, founder and ex-heavyweight of the PSRM, said that Igor Dodon is a looser in the dispute with Usatyi. “There is a rule in our politics – what can be bought can also be sold. Dodon’s team includes many ‘accidental’ people who were bought and are now trying to ‘sell’ themselves to other parties,” he stated.
Political analyst Olga Nikolenko said the leader of the PSRM is the one who should concede. “Dodon is arrogant. He feels superior because of the votes that should have gone to Usatyi. In his competition for Moscow, Dodon is trying to get rid of his main rival Renato Usatyi. This thing irritates Usatyi. I think Usatyi will get back his votes, while Dodon should think what he can do,” she stated.
Renato Usatyi expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the Socialists didn’t respect the agreement they reached and voted in a number of districts in a different way than they agreed. Igor Dodon said the Socialists who voted together with the councilors of the right will be excluded from the party.
