Experience of Moldova in women rights shared at international seminar

The international seminar held within the regional programme “Human Rights of Women” finished its works on Friday, August 24. It was organised in Chisinau by the Lund-based (Sweden) Raoul Wallenberg Institute and Gender-Centru from Moldova, with support of SIDA. The participants from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan discussed different aspects related to the implementation of international instruments on human rights, participation of women in politics, new trends in the field of human rights of women etc. The participants met with representatives from the Government, Parliament and civil society, who informed them about the experience of Moldova in what concerns the human rights. According to President of Gender-Centru Valentina Bodrug-Lungu, the organisation of the seminar in Moldova will ease the experience exchange in this field between the countries from the region and will promote successful practices, both on local and international levels.
