The basic expenses for the construction of roadways could be increased 4-fold in 2007, from MDL 55.8 mln to MDL 198 mln. This announcement was made by President Vladimir Voronin at a meeting regarding the issue of capital investments included in the draft budget law for 2007. According to a press release of the Presidency, Voronin mentioned that for re-launching the economic activity, at least 500 km of national roadways must be constructed. The head of state referred to the importance of continuing in 2007 the project of reconstructing Chisinau-Leuseni roadway and starting reconstruction works of Chisinau-Comrat roadway. According to the source, it is planned to increase by 30% the capital investments in the justice field. The capital investments for the necessities of the penitentiary system will be tripled in light of adjusting them to European standards. At the same time, the capital investments for gasification will be increased by MDL 6 mln, although the president emphasized the fact that in 2007 the priority of gasifying and connecting to the water supply networks the education and medical institutions from the localities which are connected to natural gas and aqueduct networks, remains valid. At the meeting was also discussed the importance of identifying financial means for the reconstruction projects of the Hospital for Tuberculosis diseases from Vorniceni and for the 3 reconstruction pilot-projects of the medical-sanitary institutions from Glodeni, Orhei and Ceadar-Lunga towns. The prime-minister and his deputies, ministers of Finance, Education and Youth, Transport, Health and Social Protection, Local public Administration, Economy and Commerce, as well as several presidential councilors participated in the meeting.
