Exit poll, final results
The final results of the IPP’s exit-poll don’t differ much from the preliminary data, with the Communists Party keeping the lead with 44.7 percent of the vote (as compared to 45.5 percent previously), followed by the Liberal Party with 14.5% (13.9%), the Liberal Democratic Party with 14.0% (13.9%), and the Moldova Noastra Alliance with 9.9% (10%).
These percentages translate into 55 seats for the PCRM, by 17 for PL and PLDM, and 12 seats for the AMN. This will enable the Communists to form the Cabinet, yet not to elect the President, a procedure which requires at least 61 votes.
The Democratic Party, according to the same survey, polled 3.8 percent of the vote, followed by the Social Democratic Party with 3.3 percent, the Christian-Democratic People’s Party with 2.9 percent, the Centrist Union with 2.5%, and the European Action Movement 1.2 percent. The other parties obtained a cumulated 3.1 percent of the vote.
Exit Poll 2009 was conducted by CBS-AXA and IMAS, and commissioned by the Public Policy Institute. It sampled voters at 200 polling stations until 9:00 PM when the stations closed.
