An informative exhibition centering on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Republic of Germany was mounted in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Secretary of state Vladimir Cuc said the anniversary is a good occasion for confirming the commitments of the two countries so as to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the important role played by Germany in promoting the European integration agenda of the Republic of Moldova, in modernizing the country through the agency of concrete projects for the benefit of the citizen, in ensuring stability, democracy and realization of the basic freedoms.
“We continue banking on Germany’s assistance in covering our path of European intention and in joining the family of the European Union member states in the future,” stated Vladimir Cuc.
Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan said that Germany is a strategic partner of the Republic of Moldova, including in the cultural sector, with the basis of this dialogue being laid in 1995 by signing the Agreement on Cultural Cooperatioon. “In the period, our society had the possibility of learning about the German culture owing to projects implemented by different organizations operating in our country. The diplomatic dialogue, including at the cultural level, will help to further develop the relations based on common values at European and international levels,” stated the official.
Claudia Roth, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, said that solid ties were established between the two countries, starting with sector cooperation and joint initiatives implemented with the EU’s support and ending with cultural projects implemented through the agency of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZFA) and the Cultural Center Akzente. Claudia Roth noted that she appreciates Moldova’s culture and reaffirmed Germany’s readiness to help implement bilateral projects. She thanked the people of Moldova for their solidary in the context of the refugee crisis generated by the war in Ukraine.
The exhibition at the Ministry will last for two weeks and will be later moved to a number of public places in Chisinau and in other regions of Moldova.
