The raw material used in the production process, which is not available on the domestic market and cannot be imported through free trade agreements, will be exempted from customs duties. A draft decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on the proposal of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, IPN reports.
“These changes will contribute to creating more advantageous conditions for purchasing raw material, without paying customs duties, and to diminishing production costs. Moreover, the changes will lead to the opening of alternative markets, will reduce the risk of dependence on one supply source and will foster the development of the processing industry,” stated the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization.
Also, the Republic of Moldova will this way fulfill the commitments undertaken before the World Trade Organization concerning tariff ceilings imposed on import and will have a credible image at international level, while the business entities will have facilitated access to foreign markets.
