This week it will be six months of the investiture of the Government led by Ion Chicu. According to President Igor Dodon, this period showed that the executive is led by a professional team that consists of responsible people who coped with many challenges, IPN reports.
After the May 11 meeting of the senior state officials, President Dodon said the Chicu Government was invested in the period when those who had been earlier in the government were sure that the state was close to an energy collapse. “At the start of this year, everyone said that the Republic of Moldova will not survive without external financing. The Chicu Government overcame this situation and increased the state budget revenues from internal sources owing to the professional budgetary-fiscal administration,” stated the official.
According to Igor Dodon, the executive also managed the COVID-19 pandemic with minimum losses. “We coped much better than most of the states of the European Union according to most of the indicators,” he noted.
As to the recent defections from the Democratic Party, Igor Dodon said the Republic of Moldova needs not political crisis, but stability. But some of the MPs left the parties with which they entered Parliament, resuming that vicious practice of party switching. Earlier, Vlad Plahotniuc destroyed one by one a number of parties and he now tries to destroy the PDM because he no longer can control it.
President Dodon said he will not accept a parliamentary majority consisting of turncoats. “Our opponents every day dream and rejoice like children as they aim to form a parliamentary majority of turncoats. Why are you then better than Plahotniuc?” he asked.
