Executive announces contest to set up National Participation Council
Representatives of the civil society, business environment, employers and trade unions and of international financial organizations are invited to take part in a contest to elect the members of the National Participation Council (NPC) of the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the executive.
The NPC will work under the auspices of the Prime Minister. It will have two major tasks: to participate in the working out, monitoring and assessment of the national policies, and to create the institutional consultancy framework at the level of central public authorities. The Council’s proposals and recommendations will be examined by the Interministerial Committee for Strategic Planning, insuring communication between representatives of the civil society and decision makers.
The Council will be composed of 35 members. The organizations that will designate the NPC’s members must meet a number of criteria such as: to be a nonprofit, nongovernmental institution working in Moldova, to prove civil responsibility by actively participating in the public life, to take attitude towards the problems existing in their field of activity, to prove high professional level and work experience in the area. The institutions should have participated in debates on regional, sectoral and national policy documents.
The interested organizations must submit applications by July 14, 17.00. The set of documents for participation must include: the copy of the registration certificate of the organization or the agreement on the constitution of the alliance, network etc.; the letter of intention explaining why the applicant wants to form part of the National Consultation Council; the decision to designate the candidate, stipulated in the proceedings.
