Fifteen doctoral students in Moldova will receive the Government’s Excellence Scholarship for 2022 to the value of 2,500 lei. Another four students will get the Scholarship for Scientific Areas of 2,000 lei. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on January 12, IPN reports.
The Government’s Excellence Scholarship and the Scholarship for Scientific Areas are provided annually for a calendar year to doctoral students in full-time or part-time education who study on a contract basis or on a budget-funded place.
The contest involved 36 applicants from six higher education establishments. The expert commissions chose 19 doctoral students who will receive scholarships.
One of the contest winners, Mariana Ulinici, fifth-year student who studies for her doctorate at the Doctoral School of Medical Science, conducted a scientific study centering on molecular dissection of the virus-host interaction and on the development of COVID-19 diagnostic methods. She took part in the complete genome sequencing of SARS-CoV2 strains circulating in Moldova.
