Examination of budgetary-fiscal policy postponed

The debating of the 2012 budgetary-fiscal policy bill in Parliament was put off to a later date. The announcement was made by the leaders of the parliamentary groups of the member parties of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) after the alliance’s meeting in extended format on November 30, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the leader of the Democratic faction Dumitru Diacov, the examination of the bill was postponed because the working groups encounter certain difficulties, while some of the MPs made suggestions that require time for consideration. The Liberal group’s leader Ion Hadirca said the fiscal policy bill is an important document, but it can be discussed simultaneously with the debates on the election of the head of state. The head of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet reiterated the faction’s position that the adoption of the budgetary-fiscal policy bill is more important than the discussion of the matters concerning the election of the President and suggested that the other members of the AEI postponed the examination in order to obtain the setting of the date of presidential elections. The Government approved the 2012 budgetary-fiscal policy on October 12.
