The Ministry of Education informed the General Police Inspectorate and asked penalizing the persons and media outlets that published items from the math exam for the ninth grade that was taken today, June 8, IPN reports.
According to a communique of the Ministry, it was established that three students of a Chisinau lyceum photographed the content of their exam papers with the mobile phone and published it on social networking sites. The tests of these students will be annulled. The Ministry will ask penalizing the persons responsible for the organization of the exams if it turns out that they allowed or favored these illegalities.
The Code of Administrative Offenses bans publishing the questions and answers of the ninth grade competition or Baccalaureate exams before or during the exam. The penalty is 1,000 to 3,000 lei for private individuals and 5,000 to 8,000 lei for legal entities. A fine of 5,000 to 8,000 lei will also be paid by persons holding responsible posts who will allow such frauds. These will also be banned from holding particular posts for a period of three months to one year.
The Ministry said it will continue the investigations and will inform the law enforcement bodies if there are determined other test papers published on the Internet.
