Former adviser to the President Vlad Turcanu will form part of the team of the candidate for mayor of Chisinau of the National Unity Party (PUN). The announcement was made in a news conference, IPN reports.

“I’m sure that Vlad Turcanu’s presence in my team will convince the others that they should be near us as and that I’m the candidate for whom they should vote,” stated Constantin Codreanu. He noted he is the only candidate who can beat his Socialist opponent Ion Ceban in the runoffs.

For his part, Vlad Turcanu said he decided to form part of Constantin Codreanu’s team because this represents that majority group that, from his viewpoint, is not represented by the other candidates for the mayoralty of Chisinau. The pro-Romanian voters in Chisinau need a mayor who would build a nice city and would offer them that prospect that they do not have now. The PUN team is ready to discuss with potential partners that share their viewpoints.
