Ex-Premier Iurie Leanca could head again Ministry of Foreign Affairs

MP and leader of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) Iurie Leanca could return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to manage this. The announcement was made by Iurie Leanca himself in the program “Important” on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.

The ex-Premier said he was made such an offer by the ruling alliance two weeks ago, but he hasn’t yet taken a decision. “We are having discussions. We must identify the convergence in our positions,” stated the chairman of the PPEM. He also said that he has to analyze the offer from the position of party leader as well, in view of the future legislative elections.

The former Premier made it clear that one condition imposed by him is for MP Eugen Carpov, deputy chairman of the PPEM, to also form part of the team. “I achieved many results as minister, but I succeeded together with the team,” stated Iurie Leanca, noting there was no better deputy prime minister for reintegration than Carpov.

Asked about the PPEM’s position on the uninominal voting system, Iurie Leanca said he does not have a special position and such systems function in other state, adding nothing is eternal in politics.
