Former prime minister Ion Chicu has attacked the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office Veronica Dragalin, who said that she is not aware of anywhere else where there was seen such a brazen and open attempt to corrupt an election. “Hypocrite, why don't you do anything if it goes to corruption?" the ex-premier posted on social media, IPN reports.
“Are you a chief prosecutor or media diva? What do we pay you for? Why did the Shor network and its three candidates freely run in these elections? Is this what the PAS told you that it is more convenient for Maia Sandu? Resign, you, incompetent. You have completely discredited the Prosecutor's Office and Justice," wrote Ion Chicu, who also ran in the presidential election of October 20 and won 2.06% of the vote.
In an interview with the BBC, the APO head spoke about the pyramid payments scheme openly run in Moldova from Russia by fugitive politician Ilan Shor, saying that it goes to a foreign country sending money in an attempt to influence the election.
