Former policeman Ion Stratulat, who was shot dead on the afternoon of September 19 at a terrace in the center of the capital city, had a sinful past, Prosecutor of Chisinau Municipality Ion Diacov has told Info-Prim Neo. “He committed many irregularities. I remember I personally took part in an arrest. The person did not have the possibility of escaping, but he shot him dead in the nape,” said the prosecutor. Ion Diacov confirmed that Ion Stratulat was involved in the case of businessman Igor Basarab, who was shot dead in a park of Chisinau’s Rascani district two years ago. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Deputy Prosecutor General Andrei Pantea said the person who opened fire is allegedly from Chisinau. Ion Stratulat, 40, is the son-in-law of General Nicolae Alexei. He was at a terrace located on 31 august St when a man fired on him. Afterward, the individual accompanied by another man got onto a car and left the place. The victim died on the spot.
