Ex-MP Vasile Vatamanu dies in car accident

Former lawmaker Vasile Vatamanu lost his life in a road accident that happened near Codreanca village of Straseni district in the evening of December 18. Another three passengers, including the member of “Noroc” band Alexandru Cazac, were admitted to the hospital with different injuries.
Straseni prosecutor Andrei Lisnic has told Info-Prim Neo that the Nissan was driven by a 35-year-old man. On a road segment, the car went out of control, mounted the curb and overturned.
Vasile Vatamanu, who was on the back seat, died on the spot. The other three passengers suffered injuries.
Vasile Vatamanu, 56, was a member of Moldova’s Parliament and director general of the National Press Agency “Moldova - Press” in 1990-1994. In 1996-2008, he worked for the Moldovan Football Federation.
