The former forester of the Călărași Forestry Company Svetlana Cataraga said a number of illegalities were committed after Ștefan Deleanu was named as director in her place. She considers she was fired illegally and was obliged to leave the employer-rented accommodation.
In a news conference at IPN, Svetlana Cataraga said that after Ștefan Deleanu took over in October 2017, she was unjustifiably accused of illegal felling of trees and of being absent from work. “Three foresters were named since then. Now the post is held by a relative of his who illegally cuts down trees,” stated Svetlana Cataraga.
The woman said that she has lived in the forester’s house in the period and noticed all the illegalities. “Everyone is afraid to enter into a conflict with Mister Deleanu as he has contacts in the prosecution service, the police, etc.” she noted.
The woman’s lawyer Octavian Pașcan said that two criminal cases were started, over the dismissal of his client in 2017 and over the order to leave the forester’s house. All the legal norms were violated when the woman was fired. No internal inquiries were ordered and no written explanations were requested from the salary earner, while the orders to impose disciplinary punishment were made in breach of the Labor Code.
Under the law on dwellings, if the former salary earner does not give his/her consent to leaving the employer-rented housing, this can be evicted only by a court decision. In the absence of a court decision, says Octavian Pașcan, the woman is being pressed to leave the housing and her house is being trespassed on. She is also intimidated in other ways. The law enforcement agencies should examine these violations and also the cases of illegal tree felling.
Fiodror Ghelici, chairman of the Association “Moldova mea”, in the news conference presented a number of pictures and videos showing the illegal tree felling, according to him. He noted that the documents gathered by the Association during two years will be transmitted to the prosecutor general and the President so that they take attitude.
