Sergey Cebotari, the former employee of the state-run “Moldova’s Post Office”, who informed about a scheme by which dozens of parcels with anabolic steroids were delivered through the company to EU member states and the U.S., was arrested by the police on suspicion that he made a number of people to provide forced work, by swindle, IPN reports.
In a press briefing, the deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate’s General Prosecution Division Ruslan Ojog said that Sergey Cebotari was arrested following 16 complaints about the forced work that the complainers had to provide against their will for this person.
The prosecution body also got a complaint according to which Sergey Cebotari embezzled the property of a person. In the cases started against him, the ex-employee of “Moldova’s Post Office” is suspected of appropriating over 400,000 lei.
Ruslan Ojog said that Sergey Cebotari wasn’t remanded in custody because he is a member of a political organization or because he had to provide evidence to a parliamentary commission over the illegal distribution of steroids.
