The former director of the Public Services Agency Sergiu Railean was arrested for a period of 72 hours. The information was confirmed for IPN by spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office Mariana Cherpec.

The arrest followed searches carried out at the Agency in a criminal case started over abuse of office by public persons in the process of procuring blank IDs.

The 50 searches are conducted by anticorruption prosecutors in concert with officers of the Security and Intelligence Service, the National Anticorruption Center and the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
