Ex-director general of “Moldsilva” prosecuted again

The former director general of the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” Anatolie Popusoi is again prosecuted in the case of “Biotex-Com”, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO).
The Extended Penal Board of the Supreme Court of Justice accepted the appeal filed by the PGO against the Buiucani Court’s decision, whereby the order to further investigate Anatolie Popusoi as a suspect was annulled.
Former Communist MP Anatolie Popusoi is investigated by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office in a case of misappropriation from the state.
By the same decision, the Supreme Court of Justice ordered that a new panel of judges of the Buiucani Court pronounce again on the case.
The criminal case was opened after checking the legality of “Moldsilva” leasing out 700 hectares of the Tiganga forest in Orhei to the company Biotex-Com SRL. According to the prosecutors, the lease was signed with serious violations of the legislation. Anatolie Popusoi is suspected of fraudulently managing about 80 million lei and facilitating the illegal sale of forest to former President Vladimir Voronin. Last May, the charges against him were dropped.
