A former leader of the Transnistrian Communist Party, Oleg Horjan, who had been held illegally in Transnistrian jails, was found dead in his house in a locality situated close to Tiraspol, IPN reports.
According to the Transnistrian police, Oleg Horjan’s body was found by his wife in one of the rooms of the house, next to the safe that was open and empty.
The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Moldova said that it is taking all the appropriate investigative measures applying to murder.
Formerly an opposition MP, Oleg Horjan was illegally held in prisons on the left side of the Nistru River, being set free last December.
