Events scheduled to take place in central square of Chisinau

On April 27, the Democratic Party will hold a cultural event in support of the EU’s decision to abolish the visa requirements for Moldovans in the Great National Assembly Square. The organizers informed the local authorities that the event will involve about 10,000 people, IPN reports, quoting the website of the Chisinau City Hall.

The Liberal Democratic Party intends to hold a concert in support of Moldova’s European course, but the date wasn’t yet specified. The party reserved the central square of Chisinau for the period between April 28 and May 4 and expects that approximately 5,000 people will attend the event. Contacted by IPN, Silvia Pojoga, of the party’s press service, said they will issue later a communiqué with details about this event.

The Communist Party informed the local authorities that on May 1 it will stage a march that will end in the Great National Assembly Square. The route and the motive of the event weren’t specified. On the same day, the Party of Socialists will mount a march on the occasion of the International Workers Day that will bring together about 10,000 people. The column will set off from the Circus and will head for the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”.

On May 9, the Liberal Party will stage an event to celebrate Europe Day. About 3,000 people are expected to take part in it. On the same day, the Communist Party intends to mount a march to commemorate the heroes killed in World War II, which will end in the Great National Assembly Square. Members of the party will lay flowers and will take part in a Victory Day meeting at the Memorial Complex “Eternity”.
