Events planned for Victory Day
The veterans of the World War II will participate in a series of events on May 9 dedicated to the Victory Day, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the agenda, the events will start at 8.30 at the monument to Stefan cel Mare (Stephan the Great). At 9.15, at the Memorial Complex “Eternitate” (“Eternity”) a commemoration meeting will be organised. Also, flowers will be laid at the monument located in the United Nations Square. Afterwards the officials will head for the Botanical Garden, where they will meet with the veterans, who will have the possibility to enjoy a cultural program subsequently. The aged persons are invited to participate in amusement events in the Public Park “Stefan cel Mare” starting 14.00. During 14.00 – 20.00, several cultural activities will be organised by the Chisinau Department for Culture and the Republican and Municipal Councils of the Veterans in the Great National Assembly Square.
Tens of road inspectors will ensure the public order and safety of the circulation, in order to prevent drivers from parking their cars on the route of the official delegation and near the places were the events will be organised. According to the Chisinau Road Police, the first event, at the monument to the great Moldovan ruler will be guarded by 14 road inspectors and 6 police cars, which will supervise the nearby streets and the territory around the monument.
About 70 police officers and 15 police crews will be on duty on this day.
