EU’s readiness to provide support to Moldova depends on reforms, EU commissioner

The authorities in Chisinau should continue to do the necessary reforms as the European Union’s readiness to provide support to the Republic of Moldova depends on the result of these, EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Olivér Várhelyi stated in a discussion with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that Aureliu Ciocoi and Oliver Varhelyi exchanged opinions on the prospects of developing cooperation within the Eastern Partnership.

For his part,
Aureliu Ciocoi took note of the EU’s concerns about the political events that happened recently in Moldova’s Parliament.

The minister underlined the importance of the close cooperation with the EU in the priority areas covered by the Association Agreement and in the alleviation of the consequences of the pandemic crisis.
