EU’s messages do not suggest AEI parties should run in elections together, political analyst

The messages conveyed by high-ranking EU officials to the components of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) do not suggest taking part in elections in bloc, considers the director of the Public Policy Institute. “I think they want the member parties of the AEI to have a coherent message in elections,” Arcadie Brbarosie stated for Info-Prim Neo. According to the analyst, the messages of the ruling alliance must be more or less coordinated before made public. “The Europeans believe the AEI is the only political force that can continue the reforms in Moldova and can promote Moldova’s integration into the EU,” said Arcadie Barbarosie. He considers the governing alliance will take into account the messages of the European officials given that they proposed an agreement of civilized behavior in elections. The EU thinks the Moldovan political forces should group together for the November 28 early legislative elections, according to the alternative they propose – the great alternative of destiny. Asked by Info-Prim Neo to comment on the Moldovan political class’s reaction to the messages sent by high-ranking European officials while on a visit to Chisinau last week, MEP Adrian Severin said most of the political leaders with whom he met said they will try to put into practice the idea of Moldova’s internal unity. “I hope the messages were heard and will be followed by steps,” Severin said.
