On Monday, Moldova Journalists Union (UJM) will organise in Chisinau a range of actions dedicated to the Europe’s Stand Up for Journalism Day. According to the UJM Chairman Valeriu Saharneanu, between 12:00 AM and 2:00 PM, the organisation will stage an authorised protest meeting in front of the Parliament building. The organisers of the manifestation will also hand to the legislative the Mass-Media Resolution adopted by the protesters. A meeting of the National Press Club, scheduled for the evening of the day, will have Speaker Marian Lupu as a guest. The UJM leadership says that the active and united participation of journalists in the Europe’s Stand Up for Journalism Day will represent an encouragement for the society, which will show that the democratic future of the country is predestined. UJM calls on all the journalists throughout Moldova to organise local meetings or join the manifestations in the capital city. Moldova Journalists Union is part of the European Federation of Journalists which designated November 5 as Europe’s Stand Up for Journalism Day.
